Big Boy Update

Trent loves to be active these days! He rolls everywhere and can now officially sit up on his own for a good period of time. He loves to sit up right now! He has been on his way for a while, but would usually tip to the side. He can sit up independently for a good amount of time. Here is a picture of him sitting up on our bed in his cute little plaid overalls.

Now days while we are both in the bathroom getting ready for the day, we put Big Boy on the carpet right outside the bathroom with a few toys to entertain himself. This morning I put a big blanket down for him to play on.......it was all laid out when I put it down...he eventually worked it into a big bundle around him. I call this "Pig in a Blanket". He has rolled to wear he can watch the TV.

Here is Trent taking one of his naps. He looks so durn big now when he is spread out in his crib. Trent is really taking good naps now. Yesterday his morning was 1.5 hrs and his afternoo was 3 hrs. Today he slept 1.5 hrs in the morning again and 2 hrs in the afternoon. He is gotten to be a champ at going down too. He gets sleepy and I take him up to his crib, turn on the music and lights and leave the room. He rolls around and makes a little for a short period of time and then he is out. I go back in once he is out and put his blanket on him and that's it. This makes life much easier!

Memorial Day Weekend

Trent had a busy weekend, as did we all. Friday evening we relaxed, but Saturday his Nana came and watched him for a little bit while Trevor and I went to one of Trevor's old high school friend's house for a BBQ. It was a really fun time. They live really close by so after visiting for a while, we relieved Nana and brought BooBoos back to show him off to everyone. Nobody at the BBQ had met our little man yet so they were happy to finally meet him. They of course all thought he was a Little Trevor right off the bat.

Sunday we drove up to Dad's house in Elgin to visit for his birthday weekend. Erin, Dad and Tyler met us up there and we grilled steaks and had a delicious lunch. Lori served a Spinach Strawberry salad with toasted almonds and a raspberry vinegarette dressing and Trevor just devoured every last bit of it she had. He even liked it so much that Monday evening his parents treated us to dinner at TGI Friday's and he ordered the same salad off of their menu, rather it had romaine lettuce in it instead of the spinach.....he is a new fan! However, he does say that Lori's is better. Anyway, back to the visit.....we all went fishing in Dad's pond after lunch. Tyler caught all of the fish...David did catch a tiny one towards the end of the outing, but Tyler had the most and the biggest. Uncle Trevor was great at unhooking his fish and baiting his hook. :) I was sure to take a picture of Dad with Trent out by the pond. Notice the precious little tongue sticking out of Trent's mouth (just like his Daddy).

We got back in town and little man spent the night at his Nana's house for a visit and so Mom and Dad could get some good sleep. I got up the next morning and spent way too much money at HEB, as usual. I got Trent an inflatable pool for the back patio. I was surprised that he didn't enjoy it at all. Trevor seems to think that the water was just to cold for him. I was really wanting to chill in the little kiddy pool for awhile and get some much needed sun. My legs are so durn pale that last weekend when Trevor was explaining to his friend how white my legs were he said that I was "trying to impersonate a ghost". So sad, but true!!

Well, Trent didn't enjoy his first time in the pool, but he sure was festive in his American flag trunks in support of the soldiers on Memorial Day. My precious little man!!!

Ranch Weekend

Trent had a fun weekend up at the Spradley Ranch. He loves the Ranch!! He went up with his Dad and his grandparents the weekend before and gave Mommy the weekend to herself for Mother's Day to get a massage and facial. It was a nice treat!!!
This past weekend Trevor, Me and BooBoos left right after school and headed up there. Trent is such a great traveller. He fell asleep in Brenham and slept the next 3 hours until we got to the ranch. He also slept the ENTIRE trip home. It was so nice.
We got back Sunday and Trent and I went to visit Nana, Aunt Erin and Tyler at Nana's house. Trent is so fun to watch now. He kind of scoots and tries to crawl so bad. Mom and I got a kick out watching him because at times it looks like he is hunching the floor. So precious! He can also stand up for awhile by himself if he is supported. Here he is at Mom's (Nana's) house resting up against her couch. He is so proud of himself!

We all went up for dinner after our visit for Mexican food (of course) and he was just a little angel. He is so good in restaurants now, for the most part he will just chill in carrier seat for a good 30 minutes or so and after that he is usually ready to get up and look around.

Trevor and I have discovered that Trent doesn't know a stranger. Wherever we go with him, he just smiles and coos at everyone, especially the ladies!! He is a charmer and that smile is going to have all of the girls going crazy!!! Mom will be sure to scare them ALL away though!! Beware flirty Mamas 'cuz nobody is gonna be good enough for my boy!!

Trent's sitter is nuts for him! Now when we go to drop him off in the mornings, as soon as she opens the door Trent is leaning in for her to grab him out of our arms. He just loves her!! In the afternoons when we go to pick him up after school, Nunu (sitter) now whispers in Trent's ear, "your sitters are here for you, but you will be back with me tomorrow though so don't you worry." It is so cute!!!

I know this is a G-rated site, but I just have to add this new discovery to the blog......Trent has officially found his twig and berries, Big Jim and the twins, baseball bat and balls, or however you want to refer to them, but he has found them. He played with them all during his bath tonight. Trevor and I would start laughing and he would play with them even longer. I am not ready for that!! Boys will be boys thought I guess, huh!?!? He's a mess!

Wanted to add some pictures of Trent.....here is one of him in his new high chair we bought last weekend. Boy does it make feeding him easier now that he wants to move.

Here is one from last night. Trent has this little tummy time mat that he plays with and it has a toucan velcroed above his head. Trevor and I get the biggest laugh out Trent playing with this these days. He will lay on his back and start kind of toying with the toucan by petting it and then in a surprise attack he will rip it off and throw it to the side. It is quite amusing!!! The funniest part is that he will continue to do this over and over again as long as we keep velcroing it back on the arch. It is quite similar to how he rough-houses with the toy in his high chair. Well, this picture shows how somehow Lil' Trent was playing with the toucan and he was able to miraculously velcro it to his diaper!!! It was so cute! You can see Trevor getting a kick out of it too. Look at those thighs ladies!!!

All I can say here is: PRUNES!!!! Enough said!

Here is Trent is his bath. He LOVES his bath! He splashes and kicks like crazy!!

Trent is so fun to watch now. You put him down and he automatically goes into a roll. It is so cute! He is now rolling repeatedly around to get to where he wants to go. He is all over his crib now days too. I will put him down at night at the top of his crib and when I go in to check on him he is at the opposite end or laying across the crib.

It is so precious so see him sleeping in his crib. Trent has a super soft stuffed little horse that stays in his crib. He now rolls towards the horse and uses it as a little pillow. The last few nights I will go in there and he has manuevered himself to where his little head is resting on his horsey. He loves his little horse. There have been times when Trent has rubbed the little horse until he puts himself to sleep. The other night I put Trent back down at 2 when he woke up and he rolled over to his side and put his arm around his horse like he was cuddling with it. So sweet!!

I keep wanting to take a picture of him sleeping crazy-like in his crib with is horse as a pillow or a cuddle partner, but I am always so afraid that I am going to wake him up.

I just found one (later today) on the camera that Trevor took a few weeks back.

Trent is really trying to crawl lately. I know it is kind of early, but he pushes with his legs and tries to move. Trevor and I really don't think it will be much longer. He loves to just push himself up and look around and see what is going on. He doesn't like to sit still for any amount of time.

I mentioned before that he loves his CMT videos. He especially gets excited whenever his blonde favorites came on the TV. This morning we were getting ready and he started to get fussy. Trevor thought to turn the channel to CMT and low and behold one of Trent's favorite videos was on....Kelly Pickler's "The best days of your life"......Trent stopped fussing instantaneously and started to smile and was glued to the TV. It was hilarious!!!

As you can see.............he wouldn't take his eyes off of his girl Kelly!

Trent had a low key weekend! He stayed with his Nana Friday night so Mom and Dad could get some much needed solid sleep. He is doing much better at night, but it still wears on you after a week of getting interrupted sleep, plus his Nana loves to spend time with him. He was given a purple bottle from Nana for the ride home because I forgot to bring one with me and we had a few stops along the way to make.

We went and got him a high chair Saturday and boy does it make feeding him much easier now!! He had gotten to where he was more focused on trying to get out of the bouncy seat than he was on eating good. It was becoming a bit frustrating. He discovered that he likes having toys to play with while he is in his high chair. We got the biggest kick out of him yesterday. He would take a toy and beat it up for about 20 seconds, banging it all around on the high chair and waving it around in the air with his arm and then throw it into the kitchen. Then we would give it right back to him and he would do the exact same thing......it was hilarious!! It was like watching a lion catch it's helpless prey in it's deadly claws and throw it around for awhile teasing it and then just go into full force attack-mode! Our son is a beast!

Trevor discovered a new trick that Trent can do and we think it is pretty cool! He can now lean with his back up against the couch and stand up for a small amount of time before he buckles. He doesn't have much stamina right now, but it is good practice for him.

Yesterday was a struggle to get Trent to take a nap. He took a short one (30 min) around 11 am. We then spent the remainder of the afternoon trying to get him to take a substantial nap. We both took turns wrestling with the "wild alligator" (Trent's nickname when he has his mind set on not taking a nap) for several hours. Finally, I had enough and strapped the little booger into his stroller and set out on a walk around 2:15. He took in the sights for a good 20 minutes and then finally gave into the sleep fairy. I walked him another 10 minutes to make sure he was good and asleep before I returned to the house! It was so durn hot!!!!! I was sweating my butt off, but it was worth it in the long run. He was in his crib sawing logs by 2:45 and slept until 5..........sweet relief! I was able to take a shower and watch an entire LIFETIME movie...it was wonderful! I don't remember the last time I was able to do that on a Sunday. Good stuff!!

I made Trent some delicious food yesterday as well. I have mastered the butternut squash and have added to my list blueberry, apple, banana medley. Lil' Trent just loved the blueberry medley. He devoured a Stage 2 tub full of it in a matter of 3 minutes or so. He loves him some food that is for sure!

By the way, we weighed Trent last Thursday and he was 22.4 lbs...........son of a gun!! He is so heavy...neither Trevor nor I can hold him for long before complaining of back pain....and he is only 5 and a half months! Mercy!
